Cinnamon Apple Cake (so good!)

Seen this recipe the other day, and have been dying to make it! Took quite awhile to cook, as baking usually does in a bread pan, but so worth the wait. I love how moist the cake is and the cinnamon, brown sugar combination sprinkled over the apples makes a wonderful layer!


  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 apples
  • 1/2 cup butter/margarine
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cup flour


  • Combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl, set aside
  • Mix together butter/margarine and white sugar
  • Add eggs, milk, vanilla and mix well
  • Add flour and baking powder
  • Put half the batter in a greased bread pan (or use parchment paper, as I did)
  • Chop one apple over the batter and sprinkle half the brown sugar and cinnamon combination over the apples
  • Pour the remainder of the batter into the pan
  • Repeat the apple and sugar step
  • Cook at 350 degrees for 50 to 55 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean
  • Let cool slightly
  • Mix 1/2 cup icing sugar with 2-3 tablespoons milk to make the glaze
  • Drizzle overtop the cake
