Hotdog and Potato Casserole

This is such a good, easy meal for the family. There are two ways to make it, one is the good old fashioned way, the other is an updated quicker way. Myself, today, I made it the easier way using hashbrowns rather than potatoes. If you use potatoes, slice them like scalloped potatoes, using about 6-8 potatoes. The other great thing about this recipe is you can substitute the hotdogs for any meat. Ham is really good, as is sausage. Anyways let’s get on with the recipe.

  • 1 package of hashbrowns
  • 1 can of mushroom soup
  • onions chopped or sliced(as many as you like, if you(or kids don’t like onion, use onion powder)
  • 1 package hotdogs
  • 5 tbsp. margarine
  • 1 cup of grated cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste

  • in casserole dish, put in potatoes(hashbrowns or sliced)
  • layer onions on top of potatoes
  • sprinkle with salt and pepper
  • slice hotdogs and layer them next
  • spread mushroom soup on top of hotdogs
  • add margarine (doesn’t need to be spread)
  • Sprinkle grated cheese on top
  • cover and cook at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours

    1. No need to cook them first, I just thaw them atleast enough that I can cut them up. I would say it would feed 6-8 people.
