Really Good Granola Bars

Finding a good granola bar recipe can be a hard task. I know because it took me a long time to find one the whole family was happy with. These have a slight amount of flour in them but the nice part is, you can use either regular flour or gluten free. Either way they taste really good!


  • 6 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 + 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp heaped of salt
  • 2 cups quick oats
  • 1 3/4 cups rice krispy cereal
  • 1/4 cup regular or gluten free flour
  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips  (mini chocolate chips work nice too)


  • Line a 9×13″ pan with wax paper or just grease it is fine too
  • Boil butter/margarine, sugar and honey
  • Add remaining ingredients
  • Add chocolate chips when it has cooled slightly
  • Put into pan (I find it doesn’t use the whole pan so you can use 3/4 of the pan or you could double the recipe)
  • Put in fridge
