2hr Dinner Rolls

Company coming? Pot lock? Special occasion? This is the perfect little side to add to any meal.  Best of all, they aren’t hard to make. Two hours and they are done.  I love to make these for Thanksgiving and Christmas…and when the mood hits! These are a favourite in my family.

  • 3 cups water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp. quick rise yeast
  • 8 cups flour
  • 2 eggs

  • heat water, sugar and oil to 125 degrees
  • in large mixing bowl, mix 1/2 cup flour and yeast
  • stir in hot liquid
  • beat in eggs, one at a time
  • add enough remaining flour to make a soft dough
  • knead for 5 minutes
  • let rise for 15 minutes
  • shape into 48 buns (I use a 9×13″ pan, a 8×8″ pan and 1 muffin pan)
  • cook at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes
  • remove from pan and while still warm using wax paper or brush put some margarine or butter on the top to soften
