Midnight Chocolate Cake

I have yet to taste a better chocolate cake!  This is another family favorite recipe, used to birthdays, company, and just because.  One of my favorite ways to serve it, is with whipped cream while it is still warm from the oven.  Although it is really good with icing and icecream too.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 3/4 cup cocoa
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

Directions:

  • put all ingredients in a bowl
  • mix until batter is smooth (it will be thin/runny)
  • pour into greased 9×13″ or 2 round pans
  • cook at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until the middle is cooked
